I had the pleasure of attending the birth of this beautiful little man in 2016.

He came into this world in wonderful timing. He made sure to arrive in time to see Queensland win yet another state of origin, just like his big brother did!

 

His mother, Sarah, had such amazing strength and focus. She managed her pain without need for medication with massage techniques and breathing. We dimmed the lights to make her room darker. Which made her feel safe.

​

We moved positions to make sure she was comfortable. We spent time using the heat from the shower to calm and soothe her back pain. While she was leaning over a birthing ball,  I was massaging and stroking her back. Breathing with her, as this

 really helped keep her focused. All which made her feel supported.

​

Her strength continued as labour progressed quite quickly. Sarah never once said '"I cant do it." I was in awe of how controlled she was. It was a great example of how much strength a woman has, breathing through the pain of love, bringing a perfect human into this world. With every contraction, she breathed her little man out. With only a few strong pushes, Roman was born and she was now a mum to two beautiful sons.

Sarah's first birth was quite traumatic and left her feeling a little anxious going into her second birth. This time around, she had a positive, healing experience and can look back with feelings of pride and pure joy. 

​
